Major tech services hit a massive outage on Tuesday. Among the services that were not working included Google, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and more. It was not made clear as to how this outage is progressing. The issues with the tech companies services sustained for more than an hour till the time they were restored.
Many users on social media sites had earlier claimed that they are not able to use the services. According to the online outage-tracking repository Downdetector, users reported massive outages while accessing crucial services provided by the tech giants. The real-time data provided by the Downndetector showed that there was a reported spike in the services of the major tech companies.
Several users took to social media expressing that they were not able to access the services.
“Looks like some websites were down again? Anyone else notice?” wrote a user.
Another user added, “Anyone else freaking out and think they are being hacked?”
Several people even went to link the outage with a purported cyber attack. However, it was not made clear what exactly caused the outage on Tuesday.
Facebook was one of the first companies whose service stopped working as per the status quo, reported users online. “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” said Andy Stone, the tech giant’s spokesperson in the aftermath of the reported outages to Meta’s services.
Some reports suggested that issues with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) was one of the reasons behind the reportedly massive failure hitting the social media companies’ services. However, it was not confirmed as to what led to the outage.
